About this Privacy Policy
We take your privacy very seriously and are committed to ensuring the protection of your personal information. Knowy Pty Ltd (referred to as “Knowy”, “Knowy Rewards”, “we” or “us”) collects and handles your personal information in accordance with its legal obligations, including those under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected and handled by Knowy.
Knowy operates the Application and any associated website, which is used to provide the Knowy loyalty program. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our terms of use, which are available here www.knowy.com.au/privacypolicy
By using or accessing the Services and Application, or by opening and operating an Account, you acknowledge and agree to the use of your personal information and other practices set out in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please stop using, the Services, any associated website and the Application.
- Collection, use and sharing – what information do we collect?
We collect your personal information directly from you most of the time, however on occasion, we may also collect information about you from other people and organisations, such as participating businesses.
We collect personal information when you:
- Create an Account
- Upload a receipt
- Refer a friend– when you refer a friend and they sign up using our referral program, we will let them know that you have received Loyalty Points. Similarly, if you are referred by a friend, or use a referral link or code, we may create a link between those accounts
- Redeem Loyalty Points for a Reward
- Use the Application or Service
The type of personal information we collect includes your:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Gender (if you tell us)
- Residential and/or shipping address
- Photo, if you provide us with one
- Transaction information, including information from receipts you upload
- Interaction information, from when you interact with us or a participating business
- digital information, such as location information (if enabled on your device), IP address, device type used to access the Services including your unique app ID (if enabled) and the time, duration and location of use.
- Social media – if you sign in via a social media platform, you allow us to access all data in your profile that you have enabled us to access. We will do this in accordance with the terms of use of the applicable social media network.
We also collect information about your purchases, which we gather from receipts you upload or Rewards you redeem.

Facebook Custom Audience
We may participate in Facebook’s Custom Audience programs which enables us to display personalized ads to individuals on our emails lists when they visit Facebook. You may opt out of this when you use Facebook.
Messaging
Your Information or the information you provide may be used to allow you to send messages to a friend through the Application. You must only do so in accordance with the terms of use, and if you have consent to message them.

Cookies
Knowy may use “cookies”, which are small data files sent to your browser to store and track information about you when you enter our website. The cookie is used to track some of the information mentioned above relating to the use of the Services.
Most internet browsers provide you the option to turn off the processing of cookies but this may result in the loss of functionality, restrict your use of the website, and/or delay or affect the way in which it operates.
Accuracy of Information
You should ensure that all personal information submitted to us is complete, accurate, true, and correct. Failure on your part to do so may result in our inability to provide you with the Services.
Updating Personal Information
You can update your personal information any time by accessing your account details in the Application. Respecting your Consent
If you wish to access the personal information that we have relating to you, inquire about the ways in which personal information relating to you has been or may have been used or disclosed by us, or wish to withdraw your consent to our use of such personal information, you may contact us insert support@knowy.com.au. We will seek to attend to your request as best as we reasonably can. Kindly note that we may have to charge you a reasonable administrative fee for retrieving personal information relating to you.
Please note that you may withdraw your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information at any time. However, if you withdraw your consent to our use and/or disclosure of personal information relating to you, we may not be able to continue to provide our products or services to you or perform any contract we have with you. You may also not be able to redeem your Loyalty Points for Rewards, and they may be forfeited. Our legal rights and remedies are expressly reserved in such event.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may modify and update this Privacy Policy at any time. Subject to your rights at law, you agree to be bound by the prevailing terms of the Privacy Policy as updated from time to time. Any changes to this policy will be published on our website or Application, and your continued use of the Application, or redemption of any Rewards, indicates your consent to the new terms.
Applicable Territory
The Application and the Services are intended for users located in Australia only. In using the Application and Services, you acknowledge this and agree that your personal information will be transferred to Australia for storage and processing under the terms of this Privacy Policy. We may host your personal information outside Australia on AWS servers, depending on our business and operational needs.
